19th-Century Carved Wooden Figural Console with Bowl – Folk Art (circa 1850–1900)

This charming 19th-century carved wooden figural console is a beautiful example of traditional folk art wood carving from the Central or Southern German Alpine region. The object combines craftsmanship, narrative expression, and decorative elegance in one sculptural piece.

The hand-carved sculpture consists of a round base on which two standing male figures in traditional clothing are depicted. Above them rises a tree, supporting a round bowl. The scene is naturalistic and narrative in character, typical of 19th-century folk art in which daily life and symbolism come together.

The bowl is an integral part of the object and may originally have served as a holy water font, decorative console, or purely ornamental element. The warm, natural patina emphasizes the authenticity and age of the piece.
