Product Description
Product Description
This elegant blue and white porcelain plate is a fine example of European chinoiserie, inspired by traditional Chinese ceramics but produced in Europe during the late 19th to early 20th century.
The plate features a distinctive octagonal (multi-sided) shape and a richly detailed decoration. At the center is a classic floral basket composition, surrounded by decorative cartouches depicting figures and landscapes—an approach typical of European interpretations of Chinese Kangxi-style porcelain.
The reverse bears a blue factory marking, likely indicating production in Germany (Thuringia region) or possibly the Netherlands (Maastricht), reflecting solid industrial craftsmanship of the period.
