Mid-20th Century Chinese Porcelain Vase in Famille Rose Style (c. 1960–1980)

Elegant Chinese porcelain ornamental and decorative vase, executed in the classic Famille Rose style and produced in Jingdezhen, the historic porcelain center of China. This vase dates from the second half of the 20th century and was made as a decorative export and interior piece.

The vase has a slender baluster form with a rounded body and narrow neck, richly painted with floral motifs, birds, butterflies, and symbolic elements. The composition is divided into vertical panels and cartouches, inspired by examples from the Qing dynasty. The rim of the neck is finished with a subtle gilt border.

Description

The multicolored enamel decoration is executed in the typical Famille Rose palette, featuring soft pink, green, blue, and yellow tones. The inner rim is also decorated with small floral motifs, adding an extra level of refinement to the overall finish.

The underside bears a blue square Chinese mark, commonly found on Jingdezhen export porcelain from the People’s Republic of China. This is a decorative mark and not an imperial or antique hallmark.
