Product Description
Product Description
Elegant Japanese Porcelain Lidded Jar in classic Imari style, produced in the Arita region for the European export market. This covered jar dates from the early 20th century (Taishō period / early Shōwa) and combines traditional Japanese decoration with a harmonious, decorative form.
The jar features a baluster-shaped body and a loose, original lid topped with a gilded finial. The decoration consists of symmetrically arranged floral and foliate motifs set within cartouches, executed in the characteristic Imari color palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and subtle gilt accents.
Description
The decoration is carefully yet serially applied, which is typical of high-quality Japanese export porcelain from this period. The porcelain has a slightly thicker body and an even glaze. The gilt accents add a refined elegance without appearing excessive.
