Oval Blue and White Porcelain Plate with Landscape Decoration – 19th Century

This oval porcelain plate with blue and white decoration is a fine example of porcelain in the Chinese export style, produced in the 19th century. The plate combines traditional motifs with an elegant shape and is both decorative and collectible.

At the center, a classic Chinese landscape is depicted, featuring a pavilion, rock formations, water, and lush vegetation, carefully painted in cobalt blue underglaze. The central scene is surrounded by a circular border, while the rim is decorated with floral scrolls and blossom motifs.

The underside shows an unglazed rim, a characteristic that points to traditional production techniques. The style is strongly inspired by Chinese export porcelain that was highly popular in Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries.
