Product Description
A unique find for collectors of Delftware and antique decor! This stunning 18th-century cabinet set from the De Klaauw faience factory is fully hand-painted in vibrant colors and crowned with characteristic bird finials. Each of the three vases tells its own story through glaze and brushwork, featuring floral motifs inspired by Dutch gardens and the richness of Rococo interiors. An absolute eye-catcher on any cabinet or mantelpiece, complete with a rare maker’s mark and original lids. Antique, heritage, and Dutch design enthusiasts will surely appreciate this remarkable set.
About the Maker:
This cabinet set was produced by the renowned De Klaauw (also spelled De Claeuw) faience factory in Delft. Active during the 17th and 18th centuries, the factory is known for its high-quality faience featuring distinctive blue-and-white as well as polychrome decorations. De Klaauw used a recognizable mark: a claw with a foot and beak, hand-painted in cobalt blue. This workshop is considered one of the historical pinnacles of Delftware production and remains highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
Use and Decoration:
Designed purely as a decorative object in the 18th century to display the owner’s wealth, this cabinet set includes three vases — two side vases and one central vase — intended for placement on cabinets, mantels, or buffets in formal rooms. The hand-painted floral decoration in yellow, blue, and green is typical of Dutch Rococo style, inspired by flowers, birds, and Chinese influences. This type of earthenware is perfect as an antique accent in classic or eclectic interiors, heirloom collections, or gallery displays.
Gift Idea:
Looking for a special gift for a lover of antiques, heritage, or Dutch design? This cabinet set makes a unique wedding present, anniversary gift, or investment for collectors. It also impresses as a cherished heirloom or showpiece in an antique collection. Keywords: antique gift, vintage home decor, heirloom, collectors item, rare Delftware, art gift.
